Security Officer 2 Jobs in Cleveland, OH at Cleveland State University
Maintains security of grounds and/or buildings by independently conducting security and safety inspections or rounds on foot and/or in motor vehicle. Checking for unusual or abnormal conditions or occurrences, securing buildings, monitoring intrusion detection equipment if applicable, screening & checking persons entering and leaving premises. May assist with investigations of crimes, complaints or accidents. Provides safety escort services. Prepares reports, documents incidents and routes related information. Assists with Dispatch Operations and other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent.
One (1) year of full-time equivalent community service or similar experience which involved interacting and engaging with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
This position is classified as essential, meaning that the employee will be required to report to work during emergency situations, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances that disrupt normal operations. Flexibility and the ability to work outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required as needed to ensure continuity of business operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Possession of State of Ohio Private Security Academy Training.
Security experience in a university setting.
Preference may be given to candidates with unarmed security experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time
Ability to work rotating shifts
Skill in use of keyboard and personal computers.
