Duties

You will serve as the Security Officer for a Project Management Office responsible for the development, oversight, administration, implementation, and enforcement of security policies and programs in support of Acquisition Programs of Record.

Responsible for developing long and short range goals and objectives for security programs, interpreting national policies, goals and legislations in developing security guidance and regulations.

Ensures tasks, requirements, schedules and timelines are accomplished within budgetary thresholds and provides input for budgetary funding.

Responsible for coordinating security requirements for security programs.

Performs the full scope of supervisory duties and provides advice, guidance and direction to security specialists.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

Business travel required up to 25% of the time.

Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

One year supervisory probationary period may be required.

This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) within their first two years of employment.

Qualifications

Position is a Term Appointment NTE 5 years and may be made permanent. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience is defined as: 1) Interpreting security policies and regulations for developing and implementing security programs in support of Acquisition Programs of Record; 2) Performing qualitative and quantitative studies to develop strategies for enhancing the efficiencies and effectiveness of Security Programs; 3) Coordinating security requirements for multiple programs within established thresholds; and 4) Enforcing organization’s security policies and procedures for all security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13).
