Job Brief:

The Security Associate employees will patrol the property to ensure the safety of people and properties. The Security Associate should demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. In the event of criminal activity or the need for emergency assistance, the Security Associate is to report immediately to 911 and then to the HR Manager. Our Security Associates are proactive, responsive, and ready to meet our customer’s needs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:

· Patrol the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.

· Manage biosecurity at the property entrance and exit points.

· Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

· Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of premises.

· Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

· Call police or fire departments in emergency cases, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.

· Manage effective shuttle operations, such as driving the shuttle bus from the front gate to designated drop-off points throughout the premises (class C driver’s license required), cleaning the shuttle, conducting a weekly shuttle inspection, and facilitating maintenance and repairs as needed.

· Manage the operation and documentation of the vehicle disinfection wash station.

· Manage the PPE replacement process, documentation, and inventory.

· Maintain the cleanliness of the visitor trailer.

· Clean the employee parking lot, empty trash bins located in the parking lot and at the property entry points, and maintain weed control along the front of the property

· Receive, sort, and deliver mail and packages to the appropriate department

· Properly complete timesheet, daily.

· Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance per CVE’s attendance and punctuality policy.

· Responsible for attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, strong multitasking and time management skills

o All employees must appear clean and well groomed according to CVE’s dress code policy, all work surface areas must be clean and organized, and demonstrates overall quality work and efforts.

· Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

· Knowledge of all inspection procedures for fire, theft, vandalism, etc.

· Knowledge of basic security procedures.

· Decision-making skills in emergencies.

· Knowledge of law enforcement departments.

· Knowledge of points of contact of all security-related departments such as fire, police, ambulance, etc.

· Understanding of surveillance systems.

Physical Requirements:

· Continuously stand for an extended period / Continuously shovel material.

· Frequently stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position.

· Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

· Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly.

· Vision must be sufficient to perform the essential job tasks safely.

· Ability to safely move 55-gallon drums of chemicals.

· Ability to safely lift and/or carry up to 35 lbs regularly, unassisted.

· Ability to safely lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs occasionally, with assistance.

Education/Experience Requirements:

· High School Diploma

· Certificate in security training (preferred but not required).

· Guard Card (preferred but not required).

· One year experience in a security-related field (preferred but not required).

· Ability to operate portable radio required.

· Must be able to handle typical crisis situations efficiently and perform the essential functions of the position.

· Must pass a background check, pre-employment drug testing, post-offer pre-employment physical, post-offer pre-employment functional capacity test, and clean driving record with no points on your DMV record.
