As the Security Officer, you will ensure that all individuals entering the Community Bank of New Jersey are warmly greeted and are assisted accordingly. You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities relating to the protecting, safeguarding, and security of company assets, team members, and the public.
What you’ll do in your role:
Assist in making recommendations for security procedures and practices.
Identify and resolve security related issues.
Conduct physical surveys of premises and security equipment condition.
Conduct and assist with preparing reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of CFBNJ regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assist in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.
Assist with security issues regarding associates, such as procedures for terminations and violations of company policy including theft and violent incidents.
Greet and direct all guests.
Patrol and monitor an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.
Monitor surveillance cameras, inspect property, and monitor crowds.
Contact law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
After business hours, check doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
Investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property.
Reasonably detain people suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
High school diploma or equivalent with a security guard training certification preferred.
At least two years of customer service experience required; administrative and/or office reception experience required
At least three years in a security officer position in a public environment, preferred
Critical thinking, judgment, and calm demeanor to review and solve security issues as they arise; ability to properly handle emotional situations and use discretion in all dealings of a confidential nature
Self-directed, able to work independently as well as part of a team
Able to work at all levels in an organization and with individuals with diverse cultures
Ability to work irregular hours as required by operations; availability to work Saturdays/Sundays as needed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook Software.
Proficiency in IVMS camera applications, or other security camera system.
Pay Transparency: The salary range for this position is an hourly rate of $21.58-$29.20. The final rate may be influenced by factors such as the position’s scope and responsibilities, work experience, training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
