HB Security Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide security and emergency response services throughout the resort, ensuring performance aligns with written procedures and resort philosophy.
Enforce security and safety guidelines to protect resort and guest property.
Investigate and document incidents, responding appropriately to resolve issues.
Patrol hotel buildings, grounds, and other areas, noting unusual circumstances, persons, or safety violations.
Assist managers with security at hotel-related functions and escort individuals off the property.
Provide security at entry gates.
Additional Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests warmly at all times.
Respond rapidly and professionally to emergencies, exhibiting a calming demeanor.
Conduct foot and mobile patrols, monitor entrance gates.
Investigate incidents through observation, documentation, interviews, and interrogations.
Accurately document incidents and investigations.
Answer phones, monitor security cameras, and dispatch officers.
Coordinate and supervise special assignments.
Perform administrative duties such as issuing keys, parking decals, lockers, and paychecks.
Search vehicles, lockers, and parcels as needed.
Escort individuals off the property and provide security at hotel functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Patrolling outdoors in various weather conditions.
Working indoors in an office environment.
Security at entry gates, affected by weather.
Travel throughout the resort.
Work Hours:
Willingness to work any shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Availability to work over 40 hours per week and be recalled for emergencies.
Equipment Use:
Use of telephones, radios, office equipment, AED, and driving a vehicle or utility cart.
Mental and Physical Demands:
Remain calm during emergencies.
Manage stressful situations.
Stand, walk, bend, reach; lift up to 50 lbs.
Communication
Demands:
Effective verbal communication with staff and guests.
Report writing and investigation documentation skills.
Completion of the “Initial Security Guard 8-Hour Training” and possession of a current Hawaii State Guard Card within 30 days of hire.
AED Certification, valid Driver’s License, and ability to multi-task.
