Burlington Trailways is looking for a full-time day shift Dispatcher in West Burlington, IA!
We are offering reliability incentive pay of $2.00 more per hour if guidelines are met.
Schedule after completion of training- 42 hours per week:
Wednesday: 1pm-7pm
Thursday: 7am-7pm
Friday: 7am-7pm
Saturday: 7am-7pm
Dispatch/Security Job Description
Assist and directs the safe and efficient logistics of the motor coach operations. Also responsible for the security activities for the West Burlington office and depot facilities.
Essential Functions
Dispatch
Operate and manage a multi-line telephone console system.
Supervise the route and status of motor coach operators to prioritize their daily schedule.
Prepares log of trips, delays, cancellation or list changes in schedule.
Listens to radio traffic and sends/ receives check in calls to/ from operators by radio, telephone, or in person.
Respond to any issues and follow-up by coordinating with the appropriate departments.
Coordinates emergency calls and relays information and assistance requests involving other motor coach companies.
Complete all required checklist from dispatch checklist binder.
Make sure no drivers have violated hours of service and if they have, address and solve the problem.
Security
Enforce federal security regulations relative to company operations.
Monitor security cameras and take appropriate action when necessary.
Document matters such as maintenance, safety and property or equipment damage.
Authorize persons to enter or exit property.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma required; continued education preferred
Working computer knowledge
Ability to manage multi line phone system
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Quick learner with good retention
Capable to make educated decision
