JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer provides protective services, including application of management of aggressive behavior skills and performing patrols inside and outside of the facility. Provides for escort of patients and visitors. Guards patients as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: N/A

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security within six (6) months of hire into position. Certification in MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training within six (6) months of hire into position. Completion of CPR/AED certification within six (6) months of hire. WI Background Study upon hire and renewed per WI state law. Valid driver’s license within 12 months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of general Federal, State and Local laws and ordinances pertinent to security agency operation. Be able to work constructively and positively with other persons. Make decisions to the extent that conclusions reached reflect considerations of the evidence at hand, the alternatives available and the potential ramification of any decisions.

READING – Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

WRITING – Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.

SPEAKING – Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY – Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
