A Security Officer, in the Lufkin Mall is responsible for deterring criminal activity by presenting a visual deterrent. Their duties include but are not limited to; identifying odd behaviors and appropriately addressing said behaviors, patrolling the interior and exterior of the property in random intervals, locking up and securing the property, and only providing property access to authorized individuals.
Skills and requirements an applicant should have:
Minimum Level II Texas Security Officer License or allowable legal equivalent (required)
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Ability to solve problems as they arise
Attention to detail
Communication skills to effectively communicate with others, especially in stressful situations
Good judgment in order to quickly identify the best course of action for dealing with dangerous situations as they arise
Observation skills in order to immediately notice anything out of the ordinary
Patience as they often spend long periods of time standing and observing what’s going on around them
Shifts will be 8 hours per day / 5 days a week.
