Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM / Sunday, and Monday 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
40 Hours per week
Rate Of Pay: $20/hr
Location: Union Square, Manhattan
Accepting in person applicants between the hours of 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Excel Security Corp is looking for a full time Public Safety Officer to work outdoors in the Union Square Area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for service and a desire to make a positive impact on the people they serve.
Duties will include patrolling the property, assisting emergency responders, and other duties as assigned.

Multi-task in a fast paced environment
Efficiently operate a two-way radio
Use email to send reports
Responsibilities:
· Access control
· Patrol the facility along with the outside area to prevent and detects signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
· Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
· Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
· Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences in official forms.
· Call the police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
· Circulate among visitors, residents, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
· Answer telephone calls and take messages when necessary.
· Continually inspects the security system, equipment, and machinery to ensure that all are operational at all times and to detect evidence of tampering.
· Wears assigned uniform in a manner which exemplifies the image of a security office and is groomed in a proper manner, while on duty.
Qualifications:
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently;
· Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements;
· Must have a high school diploma or GED,
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of public interaction and report writing;
· Strong interpersonal skills are important as most of our positions require regular interaction with the public;
· Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard;
· Neat and professional appearance.
· Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
