We are currently seeking qualified Campus Dispatch and Rover Security Officers for a prestigious private University in Oakland. This combination position is staffed twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The team is directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities and maintains control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room. Officers will be cross-trained to work a schedule assigned to a specific post and/or Dispatch throughout the week. They will be monitoring all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems, and be the liaison between campus personnel, students, law enforcement, and BSG management These Officers will be a reliable and knowledgeable resource in various situations for school personnel, students, and the public, and will be utilized for receiving and providing information, ensuring notifications on campus safety, policies, and protocols.
This team must provide integrity always professional interactions that promote safety to, and confidence from, the people that encompass the property.

Drive security solutions across campus
Display good communication and integrity skills
Exhibit exceptional Guest Service skills with all individuals
Effectively controls access to the property of authorized persons at vehicle entry points with Ambassador level communication and fluently understands the access levels/restrictions of all campus parking areas
Demonstrate Safety as a primary focus
Monitor and log CCTV cameras for unusual and/or suspicious activity
Utilize specialized training and methodologies, to identify potential indicators of unusual and suspicious conduct
Completes key service requests and task work orders for all maintenance needs reported
Maintain situational awareness at all times
Respond to critical incidents including emergencies, evacuations, company policy violations, and work with law enforcement
Promote the value of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all interactions
Displays professional uniformed appearance and maintains a work area with the same high regard to maintain the reputation of the property
Engage with students, faculty and visitors with an inspiring level of guest service that is knowledgeable of the campus and its amenities.
Communicates with University staff effectively to ensure campus objectives are met
Reports to Shift Supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid California Guard Card
Current Ca Drivers License
3 years of driving experience while maintaining a clean driving record
Must have full availability for a 2 week training program
You must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for this role
Must meet the physical demands, including but not limited to: Prolonged standing for 2 – 3 hours at a time , constant standing, sitting, and walking , constant use of hands and eyes
Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including typing skills and the ability to navigate through multiple computer systems
Knowledge of CCTV equipment, access controls, alarm monitoring, and computer databases
Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays preferred.
Bilingual preferred
Previous Security, Law Enforcement, Military or related Public Safety experience
Previous security responsibilities for a campus facility (either corporate or college setting)
Barbier Security Group operates this site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
