POSITION TITLE: *Security Officer
TITLE OF SUPERVISOR: *Security Manager
SUPERVISES: None
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, enforces company security regulations, ensures a controlled and safe environment in and around the Caravelle Casino; including money escorts, public relations, assisting guest/customers and employees, as needed and maintaining order.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be 21 years of age
GAMING:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Casino Employee License and Work Permit.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor while interacting with internal and external guest
· Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehends or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
· Assist Slots Department in removing drop boxes
· Escorts all internal money transfers throughout the property
· Safeguards company assets
· Report unsafe or hazardous conditions
· Check identification to ensure guests are over the age of 21
· Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Performs purse checks
· Write incident reports of daily activities and irregularities such as accidents, equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Obtain witness statements when necessary
· Monitor dispatch surveillance equipment and alarms
· Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
· Circulate among visitors, patrons or employees to preserve order and protect property
· Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly working environment
· Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner
· Keep alert and maintain a neat, clean appearance. Present a professional image to all guest and fellow team members
· Up to 100% time standing
· Must adhere to the company’s established COVID-19 protocols
Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Prior Law Enforcement and/or Military experience
· Ability to communicate, understand and write English, bi-lingual a plus
· Must demonstrate interpersonal and written communication skills
· Customer service experience
· Ability to work under pressure by maintaining composure when exposed to stress
· Must be physically able to restrain combative customers
· Red Cross First Aid, First Responder, CPR and AED a plus, or ability to obtain and maintain through company provided training.
· Must hold and maintain a Firearms Carry Permit
· Must be prepared to work over-time, nights, weekends and holidays
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid security license
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must not have been convicted of a felony
· Must submit to and pass an Alcohol/Drug Screen
· General knowledge of basic computer skills
· Ability to lift 50lbs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraints. Must be able to tolerate constant exposure to the general public and excessive noise. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with arms, and talk or hear. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to guest and staff.
