We are seeking a prn night shift Security Guard to join our team. The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Responsible for verifying the scheduled presence of all employees, and third party contactors on the grounds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
Develops and maintains a good working rapport with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel to assure that security procedures meet the needs of the facility.
Assists with special security needs as they arise; involving employees, visitors, and other members of the community.
Provides written report of any community incident during the shift that Director of Plant Operations and other administration may need to be aware of.
Maintains entrances of community for safe passage at all times. Sweeps, rakes and shovels, keeping the exit door walkways clear of debris and precipitation.
Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to function in this position.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
Assist new employees in following established community policies and procedures.
Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families, consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers.
Observe all community safety policies and procedures.
Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.
Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent in training, education and experience
Minimum one year experience in security preferred
Experience in senior living environment preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed
Must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Driver Selection Policy
Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable to your state
Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
Must have thorough understanding of all building systems and their interdependence
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
Good communication skills (oral and written)
Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
Capable of administering employee incentive, retention and training programs
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
Medium work – exerts up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 30 lbs. amount of force
