Security Officer- Part Time Jobs in Kansas City, KS at Sporting Kansas City

The Security Officer shall serve a vital role in detecting and deterring criminal activity at all Sporting Kansas City facilities. This position will also be essential in ensuring the safety of all fans, associates, and company assets on both a daily and event basis.

The position is to be a key contributor to the Safety and Security team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
Utilizes the CCTV System to monitor activities at all Sporting Kansas City facilities.
Conducts foot patrols at Children’s Mercy Park.
Conducts monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers, AEDs, and First Aid Supplies at Children’s Mercy Park.
Provide exceptional customer service both in-person and over the phone to visitors, fans, and other Sporting Kansas City associates.
Notify supervisors and on-site associates of any irregularities, suspicious activities, security breaches and/or safety hazards in an appropriate and timely manner.
Maintains critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and access control systems.
Utilize computers and email to receive and send reports and notifications.
Work with local first responders to notify and direct them to emergency situations and critical incidents.
Help coordinate emergency situations in work areas such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other emergency events
Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision, and purpose.
Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Match Day Responsibilities
Associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
Utilizes the CCTV System to monitor match activities. Must have a sound understanding of how to use this system to help search for criminal activity, lost persons, and other situations as they arrive.
Assist associates with various access control requests.
Work as part of a team with other Security Officers, Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel, Sporting Kansas City Associates, and the Director of Safety and Security.
Conduct foot patrols to help open and/or secure physical locations within Children’s Mercy Park.
Help coordinate emergency situations in work areas such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other emergency events
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Prior Security/Law Enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
Conflict Management experience as well as ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language to engage with fans, guests, partners, and other Sporting Kansas City associates.
Spanish language fluency preferred, but not required.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
