The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, staff, physicians, visitors, students, and property. Responsibilities include continuous surveillance, incident reporting, and providing quality guest services.
Responsibilities
Conduct patrols throughout the Medical Center to observe and correct violations related to security and safety.
Respond to security calls and emergencies promptly and effectively.
Control access to the Medical Center, assist visitors and patients, and enforce policies.
Maintain and monitor access to all facilities owned or operated by Hackensack Meridian Health.
Manage traffic flow and parking regulations within the premises.
Investigate security incidents, interview witnesses, and document findings.
Respond to fire drills, perform fire watches, and facilitate inspections.
Provide escorts for vehicles and visitors as needed.
Inspect outer buildings, grounds, and parking lots for hazards.
Inspect packages leaving the premises according to policy.
Prepare incident reports and activity logs accurately and timely.
Maintain departmental security equipment and report damages.
Stay informed of all safety and security matters and adhere to policies.
Complete required training and attend meetings.
Perform duties in all weather conditions and areas of the Medical Center.
Assist in emergency management and execute security protocols during emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
High School diploma or GED
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Preferred
2 years of college credits
Experience as Security Officer or Law Enforcement
Licenses & Certifications
Valid driver’s license
State, County, Federal licenses (as applicable)
