Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

Purpose: Assists the Putnam Hospital Security Manager with all phases of department operations as
assigned and directed. In the absence of the Manager, performs all necessary functions of daily
operations to provide the level of safety and security services required to meet the needs of the
hospital.

Span of Control: Security Coordinator, Security Officers

Essential Responsibilities
1. Provides security services for patients, employees, medical staff and visitors; protects hospital
buildings, assets and premises as assigned.
2. Demonstrates supervisory skills required for developing and maintaining an environment which
supports service excellence behavior in the Security Department.
3. Assumes responsibility, under the Manager’s guidance, for human resource management within
the department to achieve quality services and positive employee relations.
4. Performs various tasks for record keeping and to provide the level of security required to meet
the information needs of the hospital, including review of daily officer reports online and closure
of investigations when needed.
5. Maintains professional growth and development to keep abreast of all changes in field.
6. Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with all applicable law
and regulation.
7. Follow up of investigations including the use of such tools as video camera and access control
systems.
8. Maintains the department schedule to reflect consistent staffing levels while affording PTO
requests.
9. Maintains inventory of security related equipment to ensure all is in good repair and ready for
use; any discrepancies brought to the manager’s attention for review and correction.
10. Assists with the planning, conducting, and follow up of quarterly department meetings to
include any system wide required initiatives.
11. In the absence of the department manager, maintains the payroll accordingly and submitted
when necessary for processing.
12. Assists department manager with planning of Emergency Management exercises and real-world
events as directed.
13. Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
14. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
15. Performs other duties as required

execute solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Security.
Minimum two (2) years’ Supervisory/ Coordinator experience.
Preferred: Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Security or another related field
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

MS Word, Excel, and database programs
Good communication skills; written and verbal

License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:

NYS Security Officer License
Valid NYS Driver’s License
BLS, AED, and Basic First Aid
