We are looking for a Security Officer to join our team! This position is responsible for patrolling, observing, and monitoring the Museum while reporting any irregularities or damages. The Security Officer is expected to complete reports that include recording observations, information, and surveillance activities in and around the facility. The Security Officer ensures that our guests feel safe and comfortable at all times while providing exceptional customer service.
In this position, you will work closely with other Security Officers, the Denver Police Department, museum staff, and guests of the museum.
The Security Officer position requires excellent customer service skills, as you will be working with a diverse community in our exciting traveling exhibits. This position will use observational skills while responding to incidents and assisting museum guests. There is additional training and future opportunities to expand your knowledge and duties within the Security Department.

Essential
Duties
Observe, patrol, monitor, and control access for the entire Museum facility complex.
Report safety and security discrepancies.
Dispatch officers and emergency response, monitor software, CCTV, and fire panels.
Respond immediately to and coordinate emergency incidents.
Communicate appropriate information to guests and staff.
Balance customer service, legal behavior, and adherence to procedures while enforcing museum rules and policies.
Maintain required training certifications in First aid and CPR annually.
Provide special escorts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in security, military, or related service.
Current driver’s license with a clean record, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Ability to obtain Denver Security License within 30 days of hire.
Working Conditions
Moderate noise environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (80% of the time).
Ability to walk 6-8 miles per day for patrols.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to assist with mobility and emergency situations.
May need to detain suspects for police.
