Job Description:

Security Officers are responsible for monitoring and securing the premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Additionally, Security Officers must report all observations on designated reports. Security officers will possible be assigned to the Riverside Epicenter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
Obtains help by sounding alarms.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Provides personal services and assistance to clients at the Riverside Epicenter, hotels, hospitals, apartments, and office buildings.
Perform various tasks such as escorting guests and employees.
Complete exchanges and returns in a timely and professional manner.
Help with the organization of on-site events including weddings, business fairs, and corporate meetings.
Greet guests when they enter the building and guide them to their designated areas if necessary.
Process important queries and manage customer expectations in a polite and friendly manner.
Answer telephones and monitor the surveillance cameras.
Make frequent tours of the property per the post orders.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proven experience as security officer
Well
Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Familiarity with report writing.
Excellent surveillance and observation skills
Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems
Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense not required, but preferred.
High School diploma/GED required.
PHYSICAL/ MENTAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via telephone), and be able to read computer screens, correspondence, and reports.
The employee must constantly walk, reach with hands and arms, and drive a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. May be required to climb stairs, ladders, or ramps.
The job is generally performed in various environments, including outdoors, in parking structures, and in office settings, and the employee may be subject to adverse conditions such as rain, cold or heat for extended periods of time.
The ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines (copiers, printers, etc.) and telephones, but occasionally may be above normal for portions of the shift.
The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
Must be able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
