We are currently building worldclass institutes for the treatment of diabetes and cancer. We are looking for a Physical Security Technology Specialist who has experience with access control installation and technical security systems maintenance experience to join the team!
Duties:
Maintains physical access control and security systems.
Assists outside contractors to facilitate the installation of equipment and conduct inspections and repairs.
Serves as a contact for security and surveillance systems.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains existing access control doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
Determines placement of new security equipment.
Installs new and replaces existing security hardware.
Repairs and services equipment and maintains equipment inventory.
Assists with evaluating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting system equipment that requires servicing.
Reports and/or addresses all system discrepancies found during inspections to lead technician/supervisor.
Includes cleaning, repairing, or repositioning.
Works with campus systems resource management to accurately record all needed equipment maintenance, inventory, and labor requirements.
Creates or edits as
built drawings as needed.
Attends continuous training to include system certification, equipment and building code education, and industry standards and best practices.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education: High School diploma or GED, or Trade School certificate AND:
24 months of experience in general electronics.
Skills:
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
Ability to read and interpret information including complex technical drawings, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and text.
Ability to troubleshoot a problem, develop and implement a solution.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Ability to understand and apply technical concepts.
Ability to travel and operator a university vehicle.
Flexible schedule availability for events, emergencies responses, and department needs.
Ability to translate complex technical instructions into user
friendly actions.
Experience with access control installation, maintenance of technical security systems, and management software programming.
Experience with industry standard installation tools and safety practices.
Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control systems, and other technical security systems and general electronic devices.
Certifications:
Valid state issued driver’s license.
Criminal Justice Information Services Certification with the first 12 months of employment.

Must be able to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and drive a vehicle.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
Ability to travel.
Environmental:
Standard office and field environment, including exposure to various work sites.
Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals and solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
