Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience providing security services in Security Operation Center.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid Texas Class C Driver License.
Notes to Applicants
This position exists to help support the safe and efficient operation of the ACCD Service Yards both at the Austin Convention Center, Palmer Event Center, and the ACCD Marshalling Yard. Additionally, this position supports the technology side of the Security Division which includes the review and operation of the security cameras, access control, CAD, When to Work, and RMS.
Serves as the primary contact for management and control of the service yard and the temporary employees that act as the gate sentry’s, Gate Sentry policies, LPO’s. Monitors yard for move-in/move-out.
Acts as the primary contact for issuance, ordering and control of uniforms, equipment and radio’s for Event Staff and FSR’s and other security team members. Issues departmental ID cards for ALL ACCD personnel, clients, and vendors.
Assists in review of reports, video footage, and facility access records for HRD investigations, management requests, and PIR’s.
Management and scheduling in the When to work system.
Management and observation of service yard duties for staff, gate sentry’s, Licensed Police Officers (LPO’s) and vendors on site.

This position relies on a successful Criminal Background check.
Driving Requirement:
This position requires a Texas Class “C” Operator’s License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.
Essential Personnel:
This has been designated as an Essential Employee position. In the event of a city-designated extraordinary situation or emergency condition, essential employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees, as well as ensure the continuity of essential operations. Essential Employees may be called back in during such events, required to modify their schedule, assigned to a City-designated work site, or retained on-site to assist with operations and recovery.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the operations of a service yard
Experience with facility security, specifically in an event facility
Experience with AX/VX systems, CAD, RMS, and Keywatcher
Experience with department owned magnetometers
Experience with the When to Work program.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Oversees security and access control procedures for all security posts and acts as point of contact to ensure the safety and security of all properties.
Monitors a wide network of security alarms and cameras, responds to alarms, and investigates and resolves threats.
Serves as primary center contact, disseminating information regarding security-related incidents to management and the security team and providing technical guidance or support.
Identifies and notifies management of vacant security posts.
Provides direction and training to site officers and contract employees as needed to accomplish service goals.
Monitors welfare of security personnel working after-hours and remote assignments.
Provides periodic reports to management regarding site activities, irregularities, and identifying needed action.
Maintains the security and confidentially of sensitive security information.
Assists various law enforcement agencies, provides customer service, investigates complaints, and provides recommendations for resolution of complaints.

Ability to climb stairs, walk for extended periods of time, and perform foot patrol.
Ability to meet and maintain driver eligibility standards detailed in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program.
