Job Responsibilities
To enforce hotel rules and regulations, security policies and procedures to ensure the hotel’s property, its assets, its guests, patrons and staff are protected from any potential threat, damage or loss.
To act as hotel ambassadors with colleagues, guests and visitors.
Responsible for performing all tasks to set standards – with some supervision.
Ability to handle and deal with various types of individuals that may enter or stay at the hotel.
Endowed with common sense and sound judgment to make objective decisions.
Must be approachable and discreet, exercising tact and diplomacy at all times.
To carry out the additional duties and /or projects as directed by the Security Manager
To attend relevant training (ongoing & induction) & maintain Hotel standards
To learn & maintain Hotel, Security and legislative changes, developments & trends.
To demonstrate efficiency, effectiveness, courtesy and professionalism in duties at all times.
To conduct and effectively handle all security incidents and/or investigations as directed by hotel and security management.
To conduct all Security administrative duties according to the standards and training outlined in the Security Department.
To maintain a pro-active presence in the hotel.
To respond as an active member of the hotel Crisis management team and fire brigade during emergencies.
To exercise corporate and hotel behavioral standards during all routine calls and other functions.
To proactively seek relevant information pertaining to your duties & communicate effectively with Hotel colleagues;
Obtain from pre-shift or line up meetings.
Review daily function activities for latest Hotel information.
Participate in shift change pass on briefings.
Obtain from any other viable source to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Active/valid NY Security Guard License
Active/valid FLSD License- T89
Requirements:
Education
Two year degree or some formal college experience. Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
2 years of luxury hotel security experience preferred.
2 years of hotel or guest relation security experience.
Military or Police Experience, or emergency services.
Investigative background experience helpful.
Functional Knowledge
1st Aid, CPR and AED trained and certified
Knowledge of OSHA and security legislation
Knowledge of New York Penal and criminal procedure law
Knowledge of fire, health and employee safety
Ability to write clearly, objectively and concisely
Good command of both written and spoken English
License Requirements
A valid NY State security guard license
A valid NY City Fire Life Safety Director’s license- T89
Hourly Rate: $33.02 – $44.03
