Job Summary
Homeland is proud to partner with our client to hire a Security Operations Center (SOC) Associate Analyst. Reporting to the SOC Manager, this role is part of a 24×7 SOC team and involves assisting in the operation and configuration of various security monitoring tools, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Web Application Firewall (WAF), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), and other advanced technologies. Responsibilities
Be available to work on a 24×7 shift pattern
Act as the first line of defense by identifying, securing, and reacting to predefined security alerts using runbooks
Assist in responding to high-impact incidents, collaborating with internal stakeholders across the company
Stay informed about the latest threats and technologies in cybersecurity and actively contribute to process and solution improvements
Utilize tools such as SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Web Application Firewalls, and Data Loss Prevention
Interpret vulnerability scans, analyze security logs, and identify risk patterns or breaches
Identify, assess, and remediate low-risk security events based on predefined documentation
Assist in automating security routines and event handling using available tools and scripting languages
Execute runbooks and SOC procedures while contributing to their improvement
Monitor security access and conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and perform risk analysis
Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and application teams to analyze the root cause of incidents
Requirements
Passion for cybersecurity and a strong interest in staying updated on industry trends
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Technology
2-3 years of experience in a SOC Analyst role
Experience in creating and updating runbooks and security processes
Proficiency with Broadstroke, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Splunk; experience with Microsoft technologies is a plus
