Location Description: Manor Vail Lodge is one of Vail’s original and iconic properties. Overview: The overnight Security Officer works overnights walking the property, checking vacant rooms, making sure doors are locked, report incidents, etc.

-able to work 7 days on and 7 days off (Thursday – Wednesday)

able to work 10pm-7am

Job duties include:

Patrols lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confers with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and accidents.
Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
Warns or ejects troublemakers and cautions careless persons.
Obtains assistance for accident victims and writes accident reports.
Notifies staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
Inspect all common area restrooms and replenish any supplies as needed.
Inspect all unoccupied rooms to ensure thermostat settings are accurate and appliances are in working order.
Helps deliver requests for guests: extra bed, assist with luggage, able to drive a company vehicle if needed, etc.

Education/Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

No Computer skills needed.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid Drivers’ License that is clear of violations. Some Loss prevention courses helpful.

Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $21.00/Hr. – $23.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
