Job SummaryThis position involves delivering a specialised uniformed service. The individual will ensure that patients, visitors, and staff receive appropriate guidance while maintaining a safe and secure environment in accordance with legal requirements, particularly during emergency situations. This responsibility includes liaising with emergency services.
The post holder will safeguard individuals and property by identifying and preventing criminal activities by providing a high visible deterrent from crime and aggression, violence and harassment.
A key aspect of this role involves addressing challenges posed by certain patients, visitors, and staff in difficult situations, such as those related to smoking, abusive behaviour, car parking incidents, and unauthorised individuals.
The Trust has established policies and guidelines for the prevention and management of violent and abusive conduct, and this role will support the implementation of these agreed-upon strategies.
The individual in this position must be prepared to work across any of the NUH locations as directed and may also be required to perform car parking management duties, which includes addressing minor equipment failures.

Your primary duty is to ensure the safety and security of all persons and properties at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust and to promote a safe environment and reduce the fear of crime by providing a high profile visible presence.
The post holder must hold a valid SIA Guarding Licence at all times on duty. When the license is due to expire within 3 months, or is revoked at any time, this must be immediately report to the Security Administrative Assistant. The post holder must also remain within date of their Conflict Resolution and Controlled Restraint Training. Again if they are aware that the expiry date of their training is within 3 months, this must be reported to the Security Administrative Assistant.
To carry out patrols and provide escorts as requested.
To undertake cash lifts ensuring that all departmental procedures are followed.
To respond to any security incident within an agreed time frame

The security department works across all Three NUH campus sites and comprises of a team leader and several security officers and CCTV operators on each site.
