Culmen International is hiring a Security Program Protection Specialist to provide support for the Research Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and will be onsite in Springfield, VA.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The Research and Technology Protection (RTP) team develops and provides subject matter expertise in providing day-to-day security classification guidance and assessments of classified and controlled unclassified information (includes sensitive but unclassified) GEOINT campaigns and program tools development within the NGA Research Offices and Pods. RTP is a security risk management process that identifies and safeguards both technical and programmatic information from concept through transition to a mission partner. RTP analyzes information and processes to ensure security of information and technology to safeguard U.S. Government, National Security, and the Intelligence Community interests against unauthorized disclosure. Additionally, RTP applies operations security and selected countermeasures to the protection of critical information generated by the NGA Research workforce.

Responsibilities include:
Provide system security analysis and program documentation and risk assessment analysis in support of the RTP mission.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive picture of the threats to NGA Research programs.
Assist in the identification of potential program vulnerabilities that could be exploited.
Assess the impact of losing NGA R&D information.
Perform overall security risk assessment for NGA’s research efforts.
Provide pros and cons associated with proposed risk mitigation options.
Assist with reviewing and establishing additional technical and process-related security classification guidance for new concepts developed by the Offices and Pods.
Develop uniquely tailored classification guidelines for innovative GEOINT tools development and GEOINT data and specialized handling and dissemination instructions for Intelligence materials and specialized GEOINT programs and
publications from NGA/Research.
Provide expert advice and assistance regarding the protection of classified information, classification management, special security, industrial security, security education and training, and security investigations.
Coordinate with PMs and OGC to identify export-controlled/ITAR restricted technologies in development within NGA Research.
Provide briefings and assist in briefings for NGA Research workforce on evolving security policies and guidance, including foreign Government relationships.
Apply Business Intelligence (BI) and social network analysis to illuminate threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for exploitation within traditional and nontraditional supply chains, networks of individuals, financial and non-financial business activities, technology trends, academic partnerships and research collaborations.
Identify, characterize and analyze the capacity and maturity of the technology, innovation, development, and manufacturing ecosystem, including tiered and sub-tiered supplier bases, both domestic and foreign, to develop, deliver, and evolve critical enabling technologies and components.
Basic Qualifications:
15+ years of work experience
Experience in developing, staffing and managing security programs for Research and Development
Experience with research and technology protection (RTP)
Experience with program protection (P2) planning (PPP)
Working knowledge in any of the following:

NGA experience
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)
Security Program Integration Professional Certificate (SPIPC)
Special Program Security Certification (SPSC)
Master’s or PhD degree
