Job Title: Director of Security and Safety
Job Overview:
The Director of Security and Safety is responsible for overseeing all security operations, implementing security protocols, and ensuring a safe and secure environment at a large distribution center. This role includes leading strategic security initiatives, fostering a strong security culture, and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate risks while maintaining a positive workplace environment. Distribution center experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical Security:
Lead and oversee all security operations to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and company assets.
Implement, monitor, and enforce security protocols, procedures, and emergency response plans.
Manage security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarms, and intrusion detection systems.
Conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Supervise security staff and third-party security providers to ensure strong perimeter and internal security coverage.
Manage the budget for the loss prevention and security department.
Lead security-related training programs to enhance awareness and preparedness.
Workplace Safety:
Create and promote a culture of safety, ensuring employees feel secure and encouraged to report concerns.
Oversee emergency preparedness, including fire safety, evacuation plans, and crisis response training.
Implement workplace violence prevention measures and conduct conflict resolution training.
Ensure proper handling and reporting of workplace injuries or security incidents.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Partner with warehouse operations, HR, legal, and other internal teams to align security goals with business objectives.
Collaborating with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and third-party security partners will enhance security measures and response capabilities.
Foster a strong leadership presence by mentoring and developing a high-performing loss prevention and security team.
Technology & Innovation:
Stay up to date on emerging security technologies and industry trends.
Oversee the integration of AI-driven security solutions and data analytics for improved threat detection and loss prevention.
Evaluate and recommend technology upgrades to enhance access control, surveillance, and investigative capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
5+ years of experience in security management or a similar role within a distribution center, retail, or logistics environment. Distribution center experience is preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in hiring, training, and mentoring security teams.
In-depth knowledge of security systems, investigation techniques, risk assessments, and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present reports and findings to senior leadership.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) are a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
