As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that required an enhanced presence and personal protective services. This position an integral part of the broad spectrum of specialized security services Inter-Con provides its clients every day.

Guard
Duties:
a. Sign in, attend roll call prior to attending the respective post, and maintain post coverage.
b. Prepare and submit reports.
c. Check identification of all persons entering the restricted area of the facilities.
d. Monitor and report any illegal activities such as assault, theft, public drinking of alcoholic beverages, panhandling, vandalism and unauthorized parking to the Client SOC and Police Desk.
e. Report hazardous conditions within their assigned areas of coverage to appropriate personnel as designated by the Client Manager of Security Operations and/or designee, including but not limited to leaks, flooding, smoke conditions, damages related to vandalism, damages related to inclement weather conditions, audible alarms and light outages.
f. Assist PAPD by rendering aid, when required, to persons in public areas at the stations until the arrival of emergency responders.
g. In the event of a fire, notify PAPD and supervisory staff of the incident and await instructions by PAPD.
h. Report emergency situations involving fires, explosions, bomb or terroristic threats, floods, crowd control, track area or portal area breaches and all other types of unspecified emergencies to the Client SOC, Client Trainmaster and PAPD.
i. Perform all other specific duties as required by OCSO Client Manager of Security Operations and/or designee as outlined in the latest Standard Operating Procedures.
j. Maintain a detailed log of activity occurring during the tour, making particular note of unusual incidents or activities. Prepare written reports as requested.
k. Screen, monitor and log persons seeking access to restricted areas of the facility. Check identification of all persons entering the restricted areas of the facility.
l. Maintain logbook (on all tours) of entry of all authorized persons into the restricted areas of the facility.
m. Ensure that all deliveries to facilities are confirmed by telephone prior to granting access.
n. Report vehicle and patron accidents occurring within the assigned area of coverage to the Police Desk.
o. Notify OCSO Client, Facility Operations/Maintenance Staff, Port Authority Police Desk, or Watch Engineer in the event of an emergency, sounding of any fire, intrusion alarm.
p. Use an Electronic Guard Tour Monitoring System to ensure guards are conducting patrols if such devices are prescribed for their post.
q. Monitor CCTV/monitors and report any unusual or suspicious activities to the Port Authority Police Desk.
r. Perform all other specific responsibilities and duties as required by the Superintendent, Manager of Security Operations and/or designee.
s. May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.
Requirements and Qualifications:
a. Must have the ability to work outdoors in inclement conditions.
b. Guards shall comply with “Tours of Duty” requirements (Section 8 of the SOW).
c. Guards are required to have a security guard license in New York and New Jersey.
d. Guards must be at least 21 years or older
3. Guards must have a HS Diploma or equivalent
