Rancho Solano Preparatory School is seeking a Security Officer for the 2025/2026 school year. Rancho Solano Preparatory School is an academically accelerated private school with 2 campuses covering grades PK-12. The right candidate will be energetic and has a passion for being a positive influence on young children.
This role promotes the security of students, staff, and community members by creating and implementing a campus security plan.
Job Summary
Rancho Solano’s Security Officer is responsible for protecting individuals and entire campus. Their duties include monitoring all areas, assisting with traffic patterns and flows, checking in and properly vetting visitors, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.
Essential Duties
Patrolling and monitoring activities on school grounds regularly to discourage unauthorized visitors and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols.
Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to leadership.
Testing security systems and, if needed, operating background check software.
Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner.
Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
Required Qualifications
High school qualification or equivalent.
A qualification in security training.
First aid skills.
Physical strength and fitness.
Prior experience in security.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Vigilance.
Strong organization skills.
Ability to be proactive and multitask at times.
Knowledge of collaboration practices, and team-teaching practices.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and families.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
