About the role

The Site Lead is responsible for day-to-day operations in a client campus. They lead a team of Security Officers and Team Leads including performance, development and welfare. They ensure staffing levels are correct for the day and week ahead. They liaise with the client, other contractors including facilities to ensure they understand requirements. They also work closely with the Provincial Security management team including Site Security Manages, Site Leads, Reception, Guest & Event Services and Generalists.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, however, as part of the management team it is expected that you manage your hours to ensure you are on site and meet the team outside of business hours including nights and weekends. You are also part of the rotation for the out of hours phone.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

To supervise and support a Security Team that meets (minimum) and will exceed the customer expectations.

Proactively monitor performance, maintain positive employee relations and ensure coaching, counselling and investigations are escalated to management in line with company policy and procedure.

Support Line Manager to ensure strong staff retention.

Responsible for ensuring that all incidents and emergencies are managed, escalated and reported in compliance with client policy, utilising provided reporting programmes.

Effective risk management through proactive measures.

To ensure all staff fully understand and comply with all aspects of client Policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensuring adequate and appropriate training, advice and support is provided to make the team successful. This includes ensuring knowledge and the use of key systems, tools and policies; deliver regular training refresher modules and promoting a culture for openness and constructive feedback. Effective training records must be maintained and available for review.

Responsible for maintaining effective communications within the Security team.

To provide the client and Line Manager with operational reports as required.

Monitor, facilitate and enforce client Access Control systems, policies, and procedures.

Report all Security and Life Safety systems that require repairs or maintenance.

Provide medical attention when appropriate and as requested, i.e.; First Aid.

Report all unusual circumstances and situations and respond as directed.

Assist in maintaining the Health & Safety and Welfare policy for all rostered Security and wider team onsite, in accordance with client policies and instructions.

Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience
