CUBRC Inc. has an immediate need for a full-time, onsite Security Specialist supporting a technical business group located in Buffalo, NY. Primary responsibilities will be to assist with the development, oversight, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures for a processing cleared facility and assisting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and security team with the overall security program. Must be familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and manuals, including DoD 5220.00-M National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the security staff to include:
Physical security to include closed and restricted area administration, intrusion detection devices (IDS), and lock and container maintenance.
Process, secure, transmit, and transport controlled documents and materials.
Complete foreign travel and foreign contact reports.
Personnel security clearances, badging and Common Access Cards (CAC).
Visitor Control and processing of incoming and outgoing visit requests.
Ability to conduct security briefings (electronic/verbal) and debriefings.
Ability to interpret and analyze security contracts, government regulations, and specific customer requirements as necessary.
Participate in security self-assessments and work with team members to prepare for onsite vulnerability assessments.
Assist with the management of security policies, procedures, training, and awareness.
Qualifications
Current DoD security clearance or eligibility for a clearance.
1-3 years’ experience as a security specialist or similar experience with the U.S. Military.
Associates degree or higher preferred.
Current FSO Training or the ability to complete the training within a 30-day period.
Experience with classified information systems and cybersecurity certifications.
Working knowledge of US Government security portals (DISS, NISS, SWFT, NBIS, eApp, etc.).
Working knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST SP 800-171), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Ability to work independently, take initiative, build relationships, and prioritize tasks in afast-paced environmentwith a high degree of accuracy andattention to detail.
Capability to work extended hours and maintain an on-call status.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense security clearance during the course of employment.
