Full Job Description
Duties
Serves as the Command Security Specialist and Security SME, responsible for authoritative information and service for the PERSEC Program as it applies to MEDCOM and its subordinate activities.
Identifies and/or resolves difficult and complex security problems, gains concurrence on non-routine and controversial security issues.
Coordinates specific disclosure actions for the disclosure of Classified Military Information (CMI) to foreign government representatives in support of approved U.S. Army international programs.
Determines the Original Classification Authority (OCA) of the information for disclosure and coordinates actions to obtain disclosure approval.
Establishes and approves collateral Security Education Training Awareness (SETA) programs designed to establish and maintain unit collateral security proficiency.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Two year trial period may be required.
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
May be required to work overtime/irregular schedules or extended hours due to exercises, national special security events, or during national security crises.
This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
