Minimum Salary:22.18MidPoint Salary:$27.73Maximum Salary:33.28

At the Port of Seattle, we anticipate making salary offers between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. Offers will be based on experience similar to the Port job being applied for as well as a review of pay rates for Port employees performing similar work. Salary ranges are under review and subject to change.

Some of what you’ll be doing:

The position provides security services that promotes and maintains safety and security of the Port. It is the first point-of-contact for public interaction with the Port of Seattle and must act as an ambassador for the organization.

The position also provides moderate administrative and/or clerical duties, including reception responsibilities with a high volume of walk-in and telephone customers.

You will ensure the lobby is secure by locking and unlocking of facilities, periodically checks building security internally, externally, and the property perimeter.

You will monitor for prowlers, authorized access, fire, water leaks, property damage, civil disobedience, suspicious activities or anomalies.

You will appropriately respond to security alarms, monitor cameras, and contact Port of Seattle Police or supervisor, or appropriate authority.

You will maintain security and preparedness files, logs, indexes and record keeping systems that may include archiving historical files according to established policies and procedures.

You will assist Port of Seattle staff, local and Port Police, fire and emergency responders; as necessary. You will assist with Emergency management, evacuations, drills, and exercises.

You will perform security responsibilities independently with minimal supervision and exercise prudent risk based decision making in the performance of routine tasks.

You will greets and assists visitors with a positive professional demeanor; using exceptional customer service skills when dealing with the public, executives, elected officials, tenants, Port customers, and Port staff.

You will provide Back-up Reception Responsibilities on a daily basis and manage access for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.

Who you are:

Experienced– You have three (3) years of experience with security in an office environment while assisting employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors. Additionally, you have experience with Microsoft Office suite products and answering routine questions, via phone or in person. One (1) year of experience must be in support of a high-profile public or government office.

Educated– You possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Desired– We hope you have experience with local, state, or federal public or political environments. We hope you have FEMA and/or NIMS Incident Command training.
