Full Job Description
Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
Planning, designing, carrying out, and monitoring a wide variety of security projects.
Performing a broad range of security work that includes personnel, information, physical, industrial, cyber and communications security support.
Implementing policies, plans, procedures, standards, and methods for identifying and protecting classified and sensitive information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or materials from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
Providing authoritative advice to appropriate personnel and serves as spokesperson for WHS on security related issues.
Serving as a point of contact for incoming and outgoing classified and protected material.
Implementing and monitoring policies, instructions, procedures, and methods for functions and activities such as: document marking, safeguarding and use, personnel access controls, need to know criteria, physical storage and controls, security education and training, and transferring, transmitting, reproducing, downgrading, and destroying classified information.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Required to participate in the direct deposit program
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the civilian drug-testing program
This position is subject to provisions of the WHS/OSD PPP Pilot Program
This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP components. A Special Background Investigation (SBI) is required with favorable adjudication by a determining authority
This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft
This position may require you to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime
Qualifications

This vacancy is a career ladder position; it may be filled at the GS-09/11 or GS-12 level. If selected at the lower grade level, noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level GS-12 is authorized without further competition when selectee is eligible & recommended by management.
