Job Summary

The Security Specialist II (SSII) is a journeyman level position responsible for various security functions including Workforce Support Center, Visitor Control, Conference Center, Escort, Registry, SCIF Service, and Database Maintenance. The role involves controlling site access, issuing badges and , parking passes, and ensuring adherence to security and safety protocols.

Duties

Duties include:

Workforce Support Center: Managing badges, access cards, keys, and processing clearances using systems like Security Management System, Access Database, People Soft, RAPIDS/DEERS.

Visitor Control: Verifying clearances, issuing temporary badges, and facilitating personnel entry and exit.

Conference Center: Managing access, generating work requests, and maintaining cleanliness.

Registry: Handling classified materials and maintaining related databases.

SCIF: Providing access control, complying with directives, and interfacing with security personnel.

Escort: Monitoring uncleared personnel, briefing on prohibited items, and verifying security clearances.

Additional Responsibilities

Work is or Arnold campus, operating security systems.

Performing administrative tasks and certifications annually.

Providing customer service and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 2 years of security-related experience.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security systems.

Attention to detail and punctuality.

Physical Demands and

Work Environment

Includes standing, reaching, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. The environment is typically quiet.
