Duties

As a SECURITY STRATEGY ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

Coordinates Joint Staff J-7 security objectives, plans, and security operations, specific to Special Access Programs (SAP) and Compartmented Access Programs (CAP), enabling the support of the Director, J-7’s fully-informed decision cell.

Integrates Compartmented Access Programs (CAP) programs into J-7 functions based on Strategy Coordination Cell (SC2) ongoing operations

Develops, adapts and coordinates new approaches supporting collaborative multi-partner international, multi-portfolio collaborative Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information/Special Access Programs/Compartmented Access Programs (TS/SCI/SAP/CAP) exercise, wargaming, and analyses, strategies, policies, and procedures requiring the application of new theories and developments to resolve intractable security problems and issues not readily susceptible to treatment by accepted security methods, technology, or procedures.

Develops local security guidance and plans, implements and monitors J-7’s Special Access Programs (SAP), Compartmented Access Programs (CAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information Collateral/(SCI) information and personnel programs to ensure compliance.

Serving as J-7’s Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO), J-7’s Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO), SAP Personnel Security Official(SPO), Special Security Representative (SSR), and Media Control Officer (MCO).

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

Leading a Unit Security Program;

Developing, interpreting, emplacing, and implementing security objectives, plans procedures and operations in a Special Access Programs (SAP), Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS-SCI) environment;

Appointed to and successfully performing duties of unit Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO), unit SAP Personnel Security Official (SPO), unit Special Security Representative (SSR), and unit Media Control Officer (MCO);

Developing, adapting, and coordinating new approaches supporting development and use of collaborative and/or multi-partner, international, and multi-portfolio collaborative Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information/Special Access Programs/Compartmented Access Programs (TS/SCI/SAP/CAP) security programs;

Applying new theories and developments to address unprecedented security challenges not readily susceptible to treatment by accepted/published security methods, technology, or procedures and satisfactorily reconciling new approaches will stakeholders.
