Job DescriptionAn employee of the Department or a contracted Provider who provides first line oversight and management of the Security Officers in the unit. The Supervisor is responsible for overall direction and guidance of the services provided by the Security Officers including, but not limited to reviewing the progress of cases; documenting compliance with law and court orders; and approving Youth Empowered Success (YES) Plans and revisions to YES Plans.
The Minimum Duties For The Security Officer Positions Include Performing All Tasks Identified In This Section III, Service Tasks, Including But Not Limited To:
Oversees all aspects of booking, processing, fingerprinting, and maintaining security for youth in the holding area.
Fingerprinting;
Background screening;
Photographing youth;
Conducting a personal search of each youth and inventory;
Securing storage of all youth property;
Maintaining all keys to the Site in a secure manner;
Maintaining order and control of all youth admitted to the Facility;
Maintaining visual observation of youth;
Updating logbooks to ensure an accurate and current record of activities at the site;
Ensuring youth who are determined to require medical and/or mental health attention shall be transported by a first responder (EMS/Fire Rescue) after immediately dialing 9-1-1; and
One (1) Security Officer shall accompany the youth to the hospital (in a separate vehicle) and remain with the youth until his/her parent arrives or until an Officer arrives. One Security Officer shall remain at the providing services.
