Full Job Description
The Security Supervisor’s primary function is to supervise the security and traffic safety activities of the Security Division personnel. The Supervisor will oversee the assigned shifts of personnel, respond to and document serious incidents, coordinate field research and emergency activities, as well as patrol and enforce regulations within the Laguna Woods Village community.
This is a salaried, full-time, benefited position.
Duties:
Plans, organizes, supervises, and participates in a variety of security activities.
Confers with Watch Commander and other Supervisors regarding policies and procedures
Plans and implements new programs in accordance with established objectives
Supervision is exercised over all lower level personnel
Provides leadership and feedback through training, testing, and coaching
Administration of corrective and disciplinary action
Evaluates operational processes, procedures, equipment, and installations for security and efficiency improvements
Confers with residents regarding crimes, complaints, violations, and community relations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
College-level course work in management security or police security
Previous supervisory experience
Experience in security services, law enforcement, or military is highly desirable
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Interviewing and investigative techniques
Knowledge of security reporting procedures
Ability to understand and relate to the needs of Laguna Woods Village residents
Valid CA driver’s license
Possession or ability to obtain a valid BSIS CA Guard Card
Possession of a certificated designation as a Law Enforcement or Peace Officer is desirable.
