Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated School Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within educational facilities. You will work closely with school staff to prevent and respond to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and patrol school premises to deter and detect any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
Conduct regular checks of school grounds and surveillance cameras.
Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, including accidents, threats, or breaches of security.
Assist with visitor management, including screening and issuing visitor passes.
Provide support during school events, ensuring that security measures are adhered to.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security breaches.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is a plus.
Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle conflict effectively and with professionalism.
Familiarity with basic security equipment and protocols.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in educational environments.
Knowledge of emergency response procedures and crisis management.
Basic first aid and CPR certification.
