The Police/Security Training Officer conducts training need assessments for Community Health Network and is responsible for assisting in the development /implementation of training curriculum for Police and Security staff as well as all other Network Departments.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

High School Diploma or GED (Required)
4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Certified Law Enforcement Instructor and Valid Indiana Drivers License (Required)
2+ years in a Security/Law Enforcement related position (Required)

Conducts individual, group, and organization based training and development needs analysis.
Assists in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Police and Security training programs and uses data to revise or recommend changes in instructional methods and/or topics.
Coordinates work flow and administrative activities necessary to deliver department programs efficiently.
Assists in scheduling annual training calendar and works with the Lieutenants to minimize overtime while achieving effective training program.
Assists in the initial training of new officers, Basic Officer Orientation Training (BOOT).
Assists in development of officer/supervisor development program.
Participates in departmental QA incident reviews, with an emphasis on Use of Force incidents.
May assist in the communication effort applying QA information to Monthly Training Meetings.
Maintains education via continuous education opportunities and assures that all educational requirements are met for the Police and Security Departments.
Performs training programs such as AVADE, Self Awareness and/or Defensive Tactics to CHNw departments as directed by leadership
Individuals may not perform all of these duties, or may perform additional, related duties not listed here. COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs, perform 5 burpees, roll to back and stand. Perform without difficulty in 60 seconds or less. This will have a frequency rate of Occasional ) 1-33% of day; 1-66 per day; 1 per 15 min)
Ability to communicate effectively through public speaking, power point, dashboards, visualizations, and/or other presentations formats
Ability to independently resolve problems
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to use knowledge of or gain knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software within the subject matter area of this position
Demonstrated effective Leadership and Critical thinking skills
High level of verbal communication skills to effectively build relationships with various customer groups and co-workers.
Knowledge of applicable City, State and Federal laws
Knowledge of CHNw’s policies and procedures
Qualified in law enforcement procedures
