Under the direction of the Security Coordinator, the Security Transport Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe transport of committed/behavioral health patients. Assumes responsibility for ensuring patients do not escape, are not injured or injure others.
Iv. Education/Qualifications
Must be high school graduate or the equivalent.
Must have successfully completed the minimum standard training for Security Officers as required by the State of South Carolina and be commissioned as a Security Officer.
Must complete Defensive Driving Course (DDC).
Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in both oral and written form and edit the written communications of subordinates.
Must be familiar with the proper use of two-way radio and codes.
Ability to physically defend self, subdue attackers and properly use handcuffs and Tasers.
Ability to maintain composure, use good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency and stressful situations.
