Job Summary

Our Security Specialists are a reflection of both our venues and our brand, always presenting themselves as a positive and professional reflection of our business. Security Specialists ensure the safety of all our guests, which includes recognizing accelerated alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, and any other inappropriate behavior. In addition, this position is also responsible for protecting staff from any potential disgruntled guests.

Essential Functions

The primary function is to provide security for the venue and ensure the safety of our employees and guest by controlling the door, the flow of guests, balancing between VIPS, reservations and general admission, checking identification, upholding dress code, monitoring for inappropriate behavior, and accelerated alcohol consumption.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Include, but not limited to the following:

Check for overall venue safety.
Welcome all guests to the venue professionally and courteously, according to the established venue sequence of service.
Check identification to ensure guests are over 21 years of age.
Assist with granting entrance to guests from the guest list.
Assist in insuring and communicating cover control.
Welcome all guests to the venue professionally and courteously, according to the established venue sequence of service.
Assist with nightly opening and closing duties.
Work with a sense of urgency to anticipate customer needs and assist co-workers when the opportunity arises.
Work with a high level of professionalism towards all guests, ensuring they will return to the nightclub.
Document all reportable incidents.
Ensure guest privacy and use discretion.
Provide guests with accurate information about the venue properties, as well as entertainment offered in each.
Communicate all relevant information to the service team, putting the service team in the best possible position to execute flawless service.
Communicate clearly and timely with management, hosts, and service staff to address any and all guest needs and requests.
Work with a sense of urgency to anticipate guest needs and display the same degree of urgency to assist other team members when the opportunity arises.
Appear in uniform for all shifts and promotional activities.
Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Comply with all state and federal liquor laws and follow all health and safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Work Authorization

Must be able to provide documentation that shows you are authorized to work in the United States. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

Education / Experience / Credentials

Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in high-end, high-volume nightlife or service-focused environment. It is the employee’s responsibility to secure and maintain the current status of all required certificates, licenses, or registrations when required by local, state, or federal government agencies. ANSI approved Food Handler Card and Responsible Beverage Service certificate recognized by the ABC.

Language

Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and interpret business documents in the English language. Multi-lingual skills are a plus.

Travel

Must have access to reliable transportation locally, as this position requires presence at the venue and is not a remote position.

Pre-Shift Meetings:

All FOH departments, except Receptionists (including Security, VIP Hosts, Bartenders, Barbacks, and TSAs), must attend all pre-shift meetings with management to align on the needs and expectations for the evening’s event.

COVID-19 Precautions

This position will be based at the venue and not remote. Personal protective equipment is always required, as well as following social distancing guidelines; and health and safety measures of hand sanitizing and cleaning procedures. All CDC and LA Department of Public Health mandates are followed.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable people with a disability to perform the described essential functions where possible.

Must be able to stand or walk a minimum six (6)-hour shift and work inside the assigned bar area in the venue.
Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb, and carry objects as necessary.
Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds and manually push/pull up to 150-200 pounds.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights, and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.
Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volumes.

Work Environment

Candidates understand that the business concept is based on a hospitality and lifestyle brand, which includes the service of food and alcoholic beverages. Candidates acknowledge and understand that accepting employment with the Company, requires presence at a venue, which may include exposure to the following: smoke from cigarettes and cigars outside the venue; loud music and other sounds; individuals under the influence of alcohol; women and men in sexy and/or sexually provocative clothing.
