Job Summary
Navantia UK/Harland & Wolff are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and dedicated Security/Port Facilities Officer to oversee and manage our security operations for our Belfast site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Belfast premises, assets, and personnel. You will manage and control the company’s security measures and information assurance, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and assets. You will follow a risk-based approach, implement pragmatic and proportionate measures to comply with legislative, regulatory and customer requirements, whilst ensuring that business goals and objectives can be met. You will also execute effective surveillance, measures and loss prevention strategies to protect our assets.
Duties:
Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing Security policies and procedures
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities
Develop and implement incident response plans
Investigate security incidents and report feedback to senior management team
Develop and produce security management plans
Manage the onsite Security Guarding team and act as first point of contact for escalations
Provide security awareness training to employees, contractors, and visitors
Conduct regular security audits
Liaise with Cyber Security and Technical teams to ensure risk, management, accreditation and documentation of all CIS.
Ensure all contracts etc. meet project compliance and manage security in the supply chain
Manage Defence contract obligations including at bid stage
Manage all aspects of classified information from creation, storage, retention through to destruction to include the safeguarding, accounting, muster, audit, transmission and destruction of assets
Personnel vetting, induction, training and awareness, supervision and aftercare, investigations and reporting
Become the Port Facility Security Officer and manage Port Facility Security obligations and act as site liaison with Department for Transport
Conduct quarterly security exercises
Liaise with customers and Government organisations etc., as required
Requirements:
Must be eligible to achieve BPSS clearance.
Hold a current SC Clearance or be able to meet the requirements for SC.
Qualified to MOD/DISA Security Controller’s Course standard.
qualified working as a Port Facility Security Officer or Deputy PFSO.
(Training will be given where required for the role of Security Controller the role of PFSO)
Working knowledge of protective security protocols and procedures
Working knowledge of FSC procedures and policies
Understanding of Government Functional Standard 007
Working knowledge of Port Facility Security and ISPS code
Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written
Ability to provide clear and concise reports and security plans
Ability to assess security risks, analyse incidents, and make informed decisions based on available information.
Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve security objectives.
The ability to think critically and solve complex security-related issues is essential in this role.
