Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is searching for a Special Access Programs Security Specialist (NH-0080-03).

Description:
The 5th Space Launch Squadron (5 SLS) is seeking a motivated and highly skilled security specialist to lead a security team for a mission assurance organization. The candidate will serve as the senior security specialist leading the team and have responsibility of planning, organizing, and controlling the security aspects of programs that are highly classified as well as more routine security activities and manage the security access to special access programs. This position is responsible for the unit’s Information, Personnel, Industrial, Operations, and Physical Security programs as well as Antiterrorism. The candidate will be able to integrate all source security measures to ensure adequate protection of National Security Space Launch assets and operations as required.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience leading a team
Experience in launch operations
Experience working most, or all, of the security disciplines mentioned in this announcement, strong written and verbal communication skills, mastery of customer service, and the ability to work with both military and civilian leadership at all levels
At least a bachelor’s degree; higher level degree such as master’s preferred
DoD professional security certifications
Be a proactive, solution-oriented team player and good communicator with strong attention to detail

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.
2. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
3. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
4. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

This position is on-site and not eligible for telework or remote work.
PCS funding is not available.

Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
May be required to work flexible hours and/or overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
