Tillman FiberCo is building a 100% fiber network to support the next generation of broadband services. We have an incredible opportunity for a Network and Security Engineer to join our NPEC reporting to Tampa, Florida.
Requirements And Responsibilities
Maintaining network and security infrastructure of the company including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other physical hardware
Driving the vendor towards faster network recovery during outage situations
Ability to review the technical documentation and create the configuration required to support the services
Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
Configuring and troubleshooting security infrastructure software and hardware.
Performing upgrades to network and security infrastructure.
Providing technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation of all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects.
Implementing new and/or executing current processes and procedures that aid in the efficiency of managing and expanding the network.
Interact and represent Tillman FiberCo with peering, transit partners/vendors and others.
Implementing disaster recovery procedures
Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
Work jointly with leadership from NOC, Engineering, Business Development, and Supply Chain/Vendor management teams.
Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflows to measure operational performance, as well as identify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance.
Maintain knowledge of technology in use, and/or under development for its impact or potential impact on the operational business process
Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
Exercise sound judgement in selecting engineering techniques for obtaining solutions.
Work closely with OEM Vendors, 3rd party DF/Lit providers, and internal teams to identify the best Value (quality, time, and cost).
Design and implement the network portion for new property launches, including new constructions and conversions, and involving the configuration/insertion of new nodes.
Must be able to identify issues that will cause delays and apply innovative solutions.
