Supervisor of Security Jobs in New York, NY at Asphalt Green Inc
Asphalt Green is looking to hire an experienced Security Supervisor for our two campuses in Manhattan located on the Upper East Side (5.5 acres, two buildings and multiple outdoor public spaces) and within Battery Park City in Lower Manhattan (all indoor space). We are a non-profit organization focused on sports, fitness, and play. We offer programs, classes and camps for adults and children. Our sites are busy with members, guests, and programs users 365 days a year. The Security Supervisor oversees daily operations including the supervision of third-party, contracted security personnel (12 People). The Security Supervisor coordinates the daily schedule of guards at both sites and ensures that all guards are performing their duties as expected.
NOTE: This is an on-site role that moves between the campuses as needed but will predominantly be based out of the Upper East Side. There are two open roles. The roles consist of weekend and evening coverage throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
Conducts regular/frequent rounds ensuring that third-party security officers are in proper uniform, at post locations and that officers are carrying out their specified duties during opening, closing, and business hours.
Instructs officers on their job requirements and observes activities on post and patrol areas ensuring compliance with all security and safety policies and procedures.
Patrols the buildings and property of the facilities at various times during a shift. Patrols include the reporting on potential fire safety issues, inspections of electronic security systems, identifying unauthorized persons, providing employee or visitor escorts, and conversing with employees on security issues.
Maintains daily records and documents any incidents in detailed written reports.
Responds to situations involving security issues.
Prepares reports on shift activities, incidents, and statistics; makes decisions related to the supervision of the shift, uses good judgment in administering decisions, and communicates appropriately to all Security and other departmental staff.
Review shift reports including incident reports, email, logbooks, and all other reports and notices following up as necessary.
Checks all department equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure that the equipment is available and in good working order including computer / software systems, keys, radios, intercoms, and any other equipment necessary to provide security services.
Acts in absence of the Director of Safety and Security.
Assist the Director of Security in scheduling additional coverage for special events such as summer camp, evening, and weekend programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
3-5 years in physical security fields preferably with management / supervisor responsibilities
Licensed New York State Security Guard
Basic Life Support certifications to include CPR and AED or be willing to obtain
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills including MS Office, Outlook
Law Enforcement and/or Military experience is a plus
Fire safety certifications are a plus (F01, F89, etc.)
