Duties

1. This position will support the Federal Government’s response efforts to COVID-19. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a Security Forces Flight, ensuring that personnel comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

2. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

3. Represents the Security Forces Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with the base community.

4. Performs and enforces the full range of police officer duties within the military installation. Requirements Conditions of Employment

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.

* Disclosure of Political Appointments.

* This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

* The work requires a valid driver’s license and the incumbent must be able to operate all Security Forces Vehicles and installed equipment.

* Incumbent must be qualified in the use of required weapons, as the incumbent will be required to use firearms in performing duties.

* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

* May be required to work other than normal duty hours. Overtime may be required.

* May be required to wear special protective clothing such as coats, boots, vests, respirator masks, and/or helmets.

* Must pass an initial pre-employment medical examination, periodic medical examinations, required

physical fitness

/physical agility tests including running events, meet established hearing standards and discern colors, contrast, and depth.

* Incumbent must immediately report to his supervisor any significant medical threshold shifts in health status and/or medication requirements.

* Must obtain and maintain first responder training/certifications required in CPR techniques, self-aid buddy care, and first aid on the job and maintain annually.

* Must wear a uniform and meet applicable dress and appearance standards.

* Subject to annual duty position evaluation on a pass/fail standard.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret Clearance.

* Must pass initial formal law enforcement training school as determined by functional, a certificate from a federally recognized Law Enforcement Academy is preferred.

* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
