Team Leader of IT Security Vulnerability Management functions include leading a team of security professionals in the day-to-day operations of vulnerability management for the enterprise and its assets. Including the identification, investigation, and coordination required to resolve vulnerabilities detected through scanning and monitoring efforts. This role will help to train and mentor team members and establish new security standards, architectural standards, and design secure solutions. Secondary tasks will include the development and/or implementation of support solutions, which fit into the operations and security architecture. The Team Leader of IT Security Operations – Vulnerability Management is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a team in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures), where appropriate
Work directly with team members to develop their security knowledge and technical skills
Document and report on specific duties, activities, problems solved, and issues resolved
Determine criticality of potential security threats and decide whether to engage in Incident Response.
Manage technology and processes that support scanning endpoints for vulnerabilities. Work with all required stakeholders to explain risks and remediate findings.
Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the use of established security baseline configurations when setting up endpoints (ie: servers, printers, workstations, VMs, containers)
Scan and monitor for vulnerabilities in the technologies supporting our container infrastructure.
Ensure vendor-supported Security Hardening guidelines are applied.
Collaborate with other Company departments for security enhancements, security solution specifications, and best practices training for security principles.
Maintain up-to-date detailed working knowledge of the IT security industry
Maintain up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operation of all devices, whether under Information Security control (i.e., security tools) or other asset owners (i.e., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.)
Monitor all security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations (consistent controls, appropriate logging, regulated updates, etc.)
Manage technology and processes that support scanning code repositories for Open Source Software vulnerabilities, and collaborate with stakeholders to update the OSS in their repos.
Facilitate Risk acceptance/exceptions and escalate risk decisions to appropriate stakeholders as needed.
Work with business and technology stakeholders to describe potential security risks and solutions in ways that are meaningful to them for given projects.
Maintain compliance requirements when applicable for in-scope programs and work with auditors to provide evidence as needed.
Perform additional duties and assignments as requested
