Transit Security Officer – Full TimeFredericksburg Regional Transit
Starting Hourly Pay: $21.65
The City of Fredericksburg is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Transit Security Officer within the Transit Department. This position performs general security and safety duties to protect Transit property, personnel, customers, as well as the general public.
Duties include:
Patrolling the grounds and buildings at all transit facilities and amenities;
Taking appropriate action when confronted with security and safety issues and incidents;
Responding to customer-related incidents and issues;
Monitoring alarm, camera, and security systems at FXBGO! facilities;
Riding transit buses throughout a four-jurisdiction area to provide a security and safety presence;
Clear and descriptive report writing;
Interacting with law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check and physical abilities testing with reasonable accommodations;
Virginia DCJS approved Security Officer Training with Firearm Certification or the ability to acquire within 90 days of employment; and hold a CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to acquire within ninety days of employment. This position is subject to the City of Fredericksburg’s drug and alcohol testing program. Work hours may vary and may include occasional weekend and/or evenings.
