Courtesy Patrol Office Position Summary:
The Courtesy Patrol Officer is under the direction of the Courtesy Patrol Supervisor. This position specializes in residential homes and multi-family. This role is for a reliable, professional, and driven individual with the ability to work hands on performing general patrol work and is responsible for the observance of the property. The Courtesy Patrol Officer will observe, report, and may perform other duties as required. This position is designated as Safety Sensitive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Patrols an assigned area/community, generally by foot or bicycle, to observe and report any activity.
· Contacts law enforcement on persons violating the law and ordinances.
· Responds to calls for resident concerns/complaints and takes appropriate action to observe and report.
· Conducts open observation for community violations, writes reports for Property Managers and may inspect motor vehicles, sprinkler leaks and building structures.
· Reports on unsafe conditions in parking areas, community streets and/or office buildings.
· Greets and questions residents, passerby’s, drivers, witnesses, or others; Takes statements and/or affidavits, when applicable.
· Must have clear communication (verbal and written) with Property Managers to advise and report happenings of the community.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent; the ideal candidate should possess 3+ years’ experience in courtesy patrol
· Must possess and maintain Valid Driver’s License and Insurance throughout employment
Abilities:
· Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Work Environment:
Requires work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May require exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks with require following safety precautions. Requires interaction with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
