Security Manager
LOCATION: Chicago JOB STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations
SUPERVISION GIVEN: Chicago Admin
JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct supervision of contracted security personnel. Assists boaters with issues in the marinas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a liaison between Harbor Patrons and Security firm.
Coordinates and oversees contracted security personnel.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge of safety procedures.
Meets with Security companies to identify training needs.
Emergency response
Team Management
Disseminates/prioritizes written incident reports for reported incidents in the harbors.
Assists Harbor staff with security concerns.
Performs all tasks within scope of capability.
Promptly notifies management of security issues.
May be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Must be able to work weekends May 1 to October 31st.
QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Over 5 years minimum work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
Must have a positive attitude
Must have highly effective communication skills and time management skills
Must be able to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail.
Must be able to pass a background check
Basic water safety skills
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
Ability to work under pressure.
Must be able to work flexible hours on the needs of the property
Must have a basic knowledge of state and local ordinances and laws.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
