Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Security Supervisor oversees daily operations & supervisory responsibilities while maintaining standards within security department. Assists with patrolling areas to ensure protection, safety of clients, visitors, property and equipment. Controls and monitors access ingress and egress out of assigned site, monitors fire alarm systems, CCTV systems as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Satisfying guest needs and exceeding their expectations by projecting a positive hotel image through proper grooming, appropriate verbal communication, and taking responsibility of guest needs
Reporting on time for each shift
Dressed appropriately in uniform
Develops comprehensive onboarding and training plan for all new hires
Supervises security team & provides training for new hires and ongoing training for existing team members
Reviewing & conducting incident reports
Maintains log book of all daily occurrences
Accounting for daily duties as assigned by Director of Engineering & Security
Patrols assigned area on foot, or in motor vehicle, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security
Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses client keys to open and close buildings; monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities
Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required
Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious persons and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and detain violators, as required, until police arrive
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performing other duties as assigned by management
Must be willing and available to work all shifts as assigned by the Director of Engineering & Security
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position oversees a team of 10 Security team members
Manages day-to-day operations of security department
Assists with developing departmental SOP’s
Conducts safety & security trainings as necessary to position & department
Assists with Safety Committee meetings & orientation presentations.
Maintains departmental documentation, incident reports & security related issues
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least 2 years of experience in relevant field
Good working knowledge of security operations & safety practices
Previous supervisory experience of 1-2 years is required
